THE FILMMAKERS

ROB GEORGE & MARK POOLErob&mark

ROB GEORGE has a background in theatre, and his play Percy & Rose has garnered critical acclaim, as well as spawning the feature film Passion, which he co-wrote.

Rob has written and produced the mini-series The River Kings, as well as the feature film Selkie - both directed by Donald Crombie.

In fact, Rob sort of produced Julia Britton's first play when the first producer suddenly had to leave for the UK. This was when he and Julia first met, in Adelaide in the early 80s. Rob is now based in Melbourne.

MARK POOLE is a Melbourne-based filmmaker whose short film Basically Speaking won an award at the St Kilda Film Festival. He wrote the feature A Single Life which won an AFI Award, as well as more than 20 hours of broadcast television drama.

Mark has been directing documentaries since the late 80s when he directed Autism - The Early Signs, which he also edited. He produced a follow-up to this program in 2003 with Autism - The Teen Years.

During the 90s Mark worked at the ABC TV as a producer/director and series producer. He continues to write and script edit documentaries for other filmmakers as well as direct them.
